Just to let you know there are about 15 of them all males, at Seven
Sisters Country Park, found initially by Keith Noble on Saturday.

My wife and I went over there and managed to get a few pics, one of
which is enclosed.

Head down the main track towards the sea and look on right where track
is closest to River Cuckmere, proceed clockwise around what is
effectively a lagoon. (TV518985 - 516989). They are pretty skittish but
you can get close if you approach slowly.

Photo of one of them herewith:

My first attempt at this. Also photograph is by a mere amateur so all
experts please overlook any faults.

In addition to red wing veins, brick-red abdomen, pale dark-edged
pterostigma, note the whitish dash on the side of the thorax which
appears in photo shown in recent Dijkstra book, but missing from
Lewington's excellent artwork. Additionally blue underside of eye does
not appear in the photo, but it showed well when it lifted its head up.

Enjoy them

John
