Hello
My garden pond (in Portslade) was alive with Blue-Tailed Damselfly this
morning. My best count was thirteen. This does not count 3 immature
damselflies that had just hatched from larvae on the iris stems. These were
still a creamy white colour.
The red coloured damselflies, yet to be identified when I get the images,
are also still around but only a couple of pairs. I managed to get some good
pics of them mating and egg laying. Most of the activity for this species
occurred during April. Earlier in the year there were about 4 pairs at one
time.
A family of very noisy baby blue tits appeared in the garden earlier in the
week still being fed by parents.
All the best
Steve
