Subject: High Weald SDF 2007/08 confirmed - call for projects
I am delighted to announce that the High Weald AONB Joint Advisory Committee will be able to offer Sustainable Development Fund (SDF) grants this financial year. We have £65,000 to support projects in the High Weald.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) set the world a challenge - drastically cut carbon emissions within the next 8 years or face a dangerous rise in global temperatures. The focus of this year's SDF will be to support a few large projects geared towards carbon reduction, although other projects are welcome to apply and will be considered by the SDF panel.
The grants are open to anyone - schools, communities, businesses and individuals. Projects can apply for grants of between £1,500 and £15,000 towards projects which provide outstanding examples of action to reduce carbon emissions and/or safeguard the High Weald and its landscape. Projects should start after 1 September 2007 and finished by 31 March 2008.
The deadline for submission of applications is 31st July 2007. The panel's decision on submitted applications will be known by 1 September 2007 and all projects must be completed by 31st March 2008. Please visit our website www.highweald.org <http://www.highweald.org> for further details and an application pack or contact Janet Whitman j.whitman at highweald.org, tel: 01580 879500.
Lastly, please would you help us publicise SDF by linking to our website and/or including information in your own publications. I have attached a pdf flyer for information.
