Dear all

On 13th April a small common dolphin spent the day around the entrance of the Brighton Marina. This is unusual for Sussex as common dolphins are more deep water species and usually only occur occasionally offshore.(The bottlenose dolphin more commonly seen in Sussex often come as close as 100 - 200m from the shore).

The dolphin has now moved further east along the coast and is being monitored as there is some concern for its welbeing (and for this reason its exact location is also being kept a secret).

A small groupof common dolphins were reported off Newhaven a few weeks ago and so i is likely to be from this group.
